How The PGA Coach App Works With Onform

The PGA Coach app now works directly with the Onform app by sharing student names and videos between the two apps. You can also add your PGA Coach booking link into Onform to make it easy for students to schedule another lesson.

As the preferred video provider of the PGA of America, Onform has advanced capabilities for recording and analyzing video, ideally suited for coaches to use video during lessons and provide detailed feedback. The PGA Coach app provides a coach directory for prospective students to find a golf instructor, manages the communication and provides the ability to take payment for lessons.

In the PGA Coach app as seen below, you simply select a student and tap 'Record' which opens the Onform app. There is no need to create the student manually in Onform, they are automatically created and you are taken directly into the camera recording mode of Onform.

Once you've recorded a video in Onform, it will appear in your student's library, you can either share it via Onform by inviting the student, or, share the video back to PGA Coach by long pressing the video's thumbnail, tapping 'Share' then tapping the 'more' icon (Circle with 3 dots in the top right corner) and tap 'Share to PGA Coach' as seen below:

Sharing back to PGA Coach will place the video in the chat with the student.

You can also add your PGA Coach booking URL (web page) into Onform. The benefit of this is that when you use Onform to communicate with students— which gives them the ability to use all the tools of Onform like auto-capture recording and more —they will be just a click away from booking another lesson with you.

To add your booking URL into Onform, tap your profile icon in Onform, then tap 'Edit Profile' and copy and paste your booking URL. The resulting link will show as a new button within the student's Onform workspace.

FAQ's:

If I have an existing student in Onform, how can I link to that workspace from PGA Coach?

As an existing user of Onform, we assume you are already using Onform as your main communication tool. As such, there is not a high need to link existing students in Onform to your PGA coach list of students. Since there is not a way to link a "John Smith" in PGA Coach with an existing "John Smith" in Onform, you can simply ignore it, or create a new "John Smith" if really needed. To do so, tap 'record' in PGA Coach under "John Smith", it will create a new "John Smith" in Onform, and if desired, you can move videos from the old workspace to the new one, then simply delete the old one.

Should I use Onform or PGA Coach to communicate with students?

That is totally up to you! We expect you'll get inquiries from new potential students through the PGA Coach directory, and when that happens, your student's will be comfortable with using the PGA Coach app to communicate with you, as such, you might find it easiest to maintain that channel. Thus we created the ability to share videos from Onform back to PGA Coach and use PGA Coach as your primary communication tool. You may find that sharing and communicating in Onform is easier over the long term, especially for repeat students that you see frequently. In that case, you might find it easier to maintain communication within Onform. The choice is yours, and either way, you'll have a professional, long term solution for managing student communication.

Can I share videos from existing students in Onform back to PGA Coach?

No, not at this time. You must first create the student in Onform by tapping the 'Record' button in the student's folder within PGA Coach. This automatically creates the student in Onform and links the apps together. For these students you can share videos seamlessly between apps.
